Our next production is one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays: the tragi-comedy and late romance play The Winter’s Tale—a story of jealousy, loss, redemption, forgiveness, and reunion.

In a production that both builds upon and contrasts with the innovations of last year’s Much Ado About Nothing, director Michael Downey brings us two contrasting mythicized worlds of a stark, melancholic, and tragic Sicilia and a joyful, pastoral, comedic Bohemia, and a story that moves from the coldness of winter to the warmth and hope of spring.

올해 서울 셰익스피어 컴퍼니의 공연작 '겨울 기야기'는 셰익스피어가 말년에 써내려 간 걸작으로, 희극과 비극, 로맨스 등 장르를 넘나들며 질투와 상실, 용서와 반성 그리고 화해에 관해 이야기 합니다.   

작년 성공적으로 막을 내린 '헛소동'에서의 경험을 바탕으로 더 과감하고 실험적인 시도를 다짐한 연출가 마이클 다우니는 '겨울 이야기'에서 셰익스피어가 구축한 신화적인 세계를 무대에서 구현할 예정입니다.
차갑고 우울한 시칠리아의 비극적 세계와 따뜻하고 경쾌한 보헤미아의 희극적 세계를 넘나들며, '겨울 이야기'는 차가운 겨울에서 따뜻한 봄으로 관객들을 안내할 것입니다.

The following shows are SOLD OUT, but you can still try to get in at the door.  At every performance, a significant number of people with reservations flake out and don't come. Please don't be one of those people! But the good news is that people without reservations are almost always able to get in at the door! So even if a show is sold out, DO come and try to get in. Please note that all ticket payments must be in cash at the performance, as our theatre is not equipped with a card reader.  The only exception is for large groups, which have the option of pre-paying by bank transfer if they wish.

Ticket reservations for each show will close the midnight before the show.

Door sales are also available, beginning one hour before the show. (For sold-out performances, a waitlist will be started in the theater lobby one hour prior to the show.)

Those with reservations must arrive at least 10 minutes before the performance to claim their seats. 

(Starting 10 minutes before each performance, unclaimed seats will be made available to those present at the theatre without reservations.)

Seating will begin approximately 30 minutes before each performance. There is no assigned seating, so arrive early to choose the best seats!

There will be a talk-back with the audience after our Sunday, April 16 4pm and Sunday, April 23 4pm shows.  If you are bringing a student group to the show, we highly recommend attending on one of these days and participating in the talk-back.
